The etapati.com home page: the headline “Small games, big memories.” and the waving Bulut character

What need did it start from?

I want my four-year-old son to grow up as far from screens as possible, but I know that isn’t always realistic. What I needed was a tool that makes it easier to put the phone down: a game idea we can play right away, based on his age, the time we have and what’s at home.

My approach

My one rule was that the app should keep screen time to a minimum. A game is picked at random, explained in a few short steps, and then the phone goes aside. The focus is always on the interaction between parent and child. I designed and built the product independently, from the first idea to store submission.

The solution

Tap the ball and Bulut picks a game. If you start the timer while you play, every finished game becomes a new sapling in the garden, so the time you spend together grows into a garden of play memories your child can see too. I also built etapati.com to introduce the app in the same visual language.

Where it stands

etapati.com is live. The mobile app is in testing on Google Play and the App Store and will be released soon.
