From Workflow to Software
I’m moving R&D and product development tracking out of Excel and into a custom management platform that brings projects, tasks, risks and reports into a single workspace.

What need did it start from?
R&D and product development projects were tracked in Excel. Rows shifting, codes getting mixed up, one person’s filter affecting everyone else and reports being prepared by hand all made the work harder. I first built a system with Excel automation, then analysed the existing process and its gaps and started moving it into a custom application.
My approach
The goal is to move from scattered, hand-maintained spreadsheets to a structure where data lives in one place and reports are generated automatically. I prioritised letting teams work from a shared source of truth, see priorities and follow every change. The dashboard is designed to stay readable as the number of projects and tasks grows.
The solution
The platform brings projects, tasks, team assignments, target dates, risks, revisions and documents into a single workspace. Automatic code generation, checks for delays and missing information, change history and visual reports make tracking easier. A Gantt chart and person-month estimates support planning, while sign-in and role-based permissions control access. Passwords are hashed with scrypt and sessions are stored in the database.
Where it stands
The platform is in development. The screenshots use sample data, contain no real company data, and personal details have been hidden.
